Now, my winter formal was quite some weeks ago already. I finally got the chance to write about it today. Being single (for once) a friend and I went together as "dates".

The amount of hate I got on the following Monday...

Well, let's just say I live in a very conservative area. Anyway, so all these people are screaming at me for waltzing with my friend. Neither of us are gay, yet the slurs followed me for several days after.

I'm confused. I thought the US was supposed to be a nation of tolerance. Yet two teenage friends got so much heat for having fun together.

I hate my country =/
